After
an absence of several years, Janet Dailey's
Americana Series, the original novels that made
her America's Number One romance writer, will be
available once again to her fans, and in no fewer
than three different media. Dailey's career was
launched when, crossing the country with her
husband, she set a romance novel in every state
of the union for Harlequin Books.
Her agents, Richard Curtis Associates, Inc., have
reached agreement with Dove Audio to produce
audio versions of all fifty titles, plus seven
other early Daileys as well. The books have never
before been recorded. Dove is planning a special
promotion to bring these beloved books back to
the fans, as well as to a generation of new
fiction lovers.
The Americana series has been released in
electronic book format and is available in print
form as well. E-book publisher, e-reads, began
operations in January 1999 and has reached
agreement in principle with NuvoMedia,
Soft
Books, and other producers of handheld
electronic readers, to distribute electronic
versions of the Americana list. The books will be
distributed on the company's e-reads
web site and are listed on Barnes & Noble's
online retail site as well.
The first Americana titles released, A LYON'S
SHARE, and FIRE AND ICE, were the featured launch
books for NuvoMedia's Rocket Books romance list.
These books can now be purchased from BarnesAndNoble.com or Nuvo
Media's website at www.rocket-ebook.com.
Dailey has written a special introduction to the
electronic book editions.
Negotiations are under way for reissue of the
Americana series in paperback format and
publication plans are to be announced. |
