THE WOMEN

Abbie Lawson – beautiful, proud, spoiled.  Her father, Dean Lawson, gave her everything that money could buy – except the sure knowledge that he loved her above everything he ever owned.

Rachel Farr – shy, insecure, an untapped beauty.  She knew everything about Abbie’s charmed life and envied it all.  And when she won the chance, she wanted to make Abbie pay for everything ever denied her.

THE MEN

MacCrea Wilder Strong, independent, irresistible.  Everything he had, he made for himself, by himself.  Stubborn and self-assured he and Abbie were drawn to each other’s passionate natures, yet were pulled apart by them too.

Lane Canfield -  Dean Lawson’s trusted friend and advisor.  He worshipped Rachel’s fragility and tenderness, wanting to save her from jealousy that consumed her.

THE HORSES

River Breeze – the courageous, strong Arabian horse who couldn’t lose a race.  He was part of Abbie’s legacy, what she shared with her father, and she cherished that memory.

Windstrom – Rachel’s long-legged Arabian horse.  One of the few gifts she received from her father, she treasured him above all else, pushing him to race, to win, no matter what the cost.
